JJ Robinson is a seasoned Computer Scientist with over 15 years of experience leveraging ICT as a catalyst for sustainable development. He has been instrumental in several pioneering initiatives, serving as the Lead Developer of Internet Village Digital World Banjul in The Gambia and as a board member of The Internet Village Foundation global network.
JJ’s expertise extends across diverse ICT domains, having consulted on national projects in The Gambia focusing on Digital Learning, Educational Technologies, and ICT for Development. He is the founding member of the TIVVET Computer Training Centre and Digital Studio, overseeing its operations from inception.
His commitment to social impact is evident in his international roles, including as Country Director and International Coordinator for Good Deeds Day. He also coordinated the TIVVET Art of Code project in The Gambia, promoting coding skills among youth.
JJ is deeply involved in digital advocacy and entrepreneurship networks. He is an active member of Doing Good Ambassadors, a founding member of the Movement Of Digital Entrepreneurs (MODE) in The Gambia, and serves as the Regional Resource Person for the West African Internet Village Forum. His engagement extends to the global internet governance space as a member of DICANN (Digital Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and as a volunteer within various Internet Society working groups.
He leads his organization's strategic partnerships with the TIVVET Global Partnership for Sustainable Internet Technology Development, contributes to the Pan-African Network of Internet Village Hubs, and is active within the Global Entrepreneurship Network. Recently, he served as an eLearning consultant for the UNDP Climate Promise Project. Currently, JJ Robinson holds the position of Director of Internet Innovation at Internet Village Digital World.
